Hi ya
You must be joking mate
Your only chance of doing it in that time is if you get another flight from gatwick to liverpool.
I went from gatwick to great yarmouth and with all the underground plus british rail it took 4 damn hours and i caught every train dead on time.
All the best.

Should be fairly easy. Gatwick has the Gatwick express which goes straight to Victoria Station in 30 mins. From there you’d get the tube on the Victoria line to Finsbury Park, get off at Oxford Circus, then get the Central line Haibault or Epping get off at Liverpool street station.
The tube journey should be 20 mins. When you get to Victoria grab a tube map you can check all of it as you go. Don’t forget the Oyster Card.
The guy above is talking rubbish. This journey would cost you maybe £20-30.

To be fair, Bashful Brit has attempted to answer the question, which, I might add, isn’t very clear! It took me a couple of reads to understand that the person asking meant ‘Liverpool Street’ station and not just ‘Liverpool’.
As has been explained in the other answer, Gatwick Airport to Liverpool Street station is easily possible in 1 hour 40 minutes using public transport. Bashful Brit has obviously told you that Gatwick Airport to Liverpool (in the north of England) would be impossible in such a short space of time, hence suggesting that a flight would be the only way that it could be achieved.

You can get a First Capital Conect train from the airport along the Thamelink line to King’s Cross Saint Pancress
then ask where “Liverpool Station” is
I think you might find its on an island on the other side of the world
