I travel with Easyjet all the time. Easyjet do not allocate seats, so the sooner you get to the airport and get your baggage checked in, the sooner you will be called to the aircraft, so have a better choice of seat. I have never travelled with Ryan airline, so cannot comment on their service. As for the safety aspect, they say flying is the safest form of transport.

Ryanair are great – I’ve used them a lot and never had a problem of any kind. Other peoplecertainly have experienced problems, so I suppose it comes down to luck. But safe? Totally, as far as I know – at least as far as any airline is safe.

Ive never had a problem with either of these company’s.Their aeroplanes are all new , they fly on time, their service is as good as other airlines.Because they deal in short haul ,there is no need to serve endless rounds of food which longer haul airlines do.
A plane needs to be safe in order to take off.Because they are cheap, there is no reason to assume that they are unsafe.

Never had a problem with easyjet. Havent flown with ryanair though. The planes are fine. Get there early to get a good seat. You dont get any on board entertainment or anything free but they do have a trolley for food though its not cheap. Staff are friendly and the planes are usally fairly clean. They have quite a quick turnaround so dont have much time to do the cleaning.

Hi, I’ve never traveled Ryan Air, but have Easy Jet. In terms of ‘are they safe’ – definitely – they have (I believe) one of the ‘youngest’ fleet of aircraft in the UK, and will be just as safe as any other airline. My personal experience of the airline isn’t great – they’re not my favorite. I find the main headache tends to be check-in. Rather than dedicated check-in desks for each flight – they have a bank of desks for all flights, which handle all checking in, which means checking in can take forever! Apart from that, it’s not a bad service – you get what you pay for though. Best of luck!

I’ve only traveled with Ryan Air once and it was ok. It’s a cheap way to get around. The seating space is kind of small and there are no assigned seats so get to the plane as fast as you can if you are traveling with others so they can sit next to you.

They both have excellent modern aircraft
737-800’s at the top of the boeings (ryanair + easyjet)
a319’s a320’s (easyjet)
The pilots are well trained for easyjet by CTC who also supply pilots to a lot of UK airlines.
Ryanair doesn’t train pilots, you need a certain number of hours on type to fly for them but pilots and pay are good
as for the airlines’ customer service……oh dear!

To answer your question literally – yes, it is quite safe to fly with either of Easyjet or Ryanair.
They operate very modern British Registered aircraft with British licenced crews so their safety standards will be as high as the best of the rest.
Even the cut-price airlines recognise that you don’t make money by killing your passengers. (at least the UK ones do)
As for comfort and service … well, if you’re comparing cabin facilities and meals with the likes of BA then you should know that the cut price people offer a very basic service. It’s not quite “cattle class” but you’re only buying a seat. Everything else, even in-flight water, and your hold bags is an additional charge.
They also tend to fly at odd or inconvenient times and don’t always use (especially Ryanair) major aerodomes because the airway slots and airport charges can be cheaper.
You may have onward transport connection problems or expense at your destination airport. Check how you’re going to complete your journey before you buy your ticket. Busses may not be available at the right times and taxis may be expensive and write-off your air fare saving.
You can fly on Easyjet or Ryanir for less than a major carrier – providing that you don’t want in-flight service (or are willing to pay dearly for it), have minimal luggage, don’t mind departing or arriving very late (or extremely early) and are happy to use continental “regional” airports.
Remember that many of the fares they quote are only singles and have mandatory taxes and suppliments added; also remember that they often charge a different fare for your ‘return’ journey.
Examples –
British Airways Heathrow-Berlin Tegel, about £98 return including meals, taxes and suppliments and 23kg luggage allowance. The timetable allows you a full day in Berlin.
Ryanair Stansted-Berlin Shoenefelde, about £75 return including taxes and suppliments. You must pay baggage suppliments and buy your food and drink on board (costly) and you have to travel from out-of-town airports (meaning train or taxi fares). You arrive in Berlin quite late (well after tea time) and most things have closed.

No problems with either company. Good young modern fleet of aircraft, mostly 737’s.
Basically they’re just glorified bus companies, and fares can be really cheap if booked in advance. Just don’t expect a cheap seat if you turn up at the last minute.
No safety concerns either, but I do believe that a Ryanair plane landed at a wrong airport not that long ago, in Ireland of all places!

Safe, but not comfortable, they are the worst two cheapo airlines
