Oyster is cheaper, especially if you travel at certain times. £4.40 will be the cheapest fare. £6.40 the maximum (travelling Monday to Friday from 0630 to 0930 and from 1600 to 1900).

The daily travelcard option is £12.60 (peak) or £7.50 (off peak).

Assuming you are travelling 5 days a week, Oyster pay as you go is also cheaper for this journey over the longer term:

    A 7-day travelcard is £44 = (assuming travel 5 days) £8.80/day
    A 1-month travelcard is £169 = (asssuming travel 20 days) £8.45/day
    A 1-year travelcard is £1,760 = (assuming travel 240 days) £7.33/day

So if you only travel Harrow & Wealdstone <> Zone 1 station on weekdays Oyster pay as you go works out cheaper. You need to adjust these calculations for any regular trips you make at weekends or in the evening as a travelcard might work out cheaper in that case.
